One-time occultist to Queen Elizabeth, John Dee has a fearsome reputation. To quote wikipedia:
John Dee (13 July 1527–1608 or 1609) was a noted mathematician, astronomer, astrologer, occultist, navigator, imperialist,[4] and consultant to Queen Elizabeth I of England. He devoted much of his life to the study of alchemy, divination, and Hermetic philosophy.
Somewhere along the line however, he was recruited by the Nazis (or did he do the recruiting???) and became a lynch-pin of their invasion of the 17th Century. His plan to resurrect Queen Elizabeth and invade England seemed to be going so well, until those pesky kids Torchwood put a stop to it.
However, he did return to the 20th Century and was last seen in the form of a fearsome demon, frozen in a pentagram in the middle of Berlin.
His story is probably not over yet…
Having valiantly captured a Zeppelin in battle at Chester, our heroes flew to the Nazi Castle deep in the Welsh hills with intent to beat it up.
They found that the facility had been significantly upgraded in their absence and that Doktor John Dee was prepared for them (since the flags the captured engineers had suggested didn’t actually say ‘radio broken, all is well’).
The remainder of the episode involved (in rough order)
- sneaking around the basement of the castle (for the 3rd time)
- getting the Nazi guards to help them demolish the (now burning) castle
- Welsh Mountain Sharks
- John Dee turning into a demon
- SS Commanders with tentacles instead of arms
- Chasing lakes down hills “Follow that Lake!”
- Blowing up the clockwork-zombie-queen-elizabeth
- Stealing a rowboat and paddling into 1923 Berlin
Part Two continued in fairly seamless fashion:
- Trapping John Dee in yet another pentagram
- Recruiting a Karotechia occultist to their side
- Blowing up the Nazi Zeppelin invasion fleet
- Escaping to Britain
- Having all the credit claimed by Captain America
