In an “alchemical baroque” world of ghosts and fairies, muskets and cannon, trolls and witches, cats can of course be wise creatures, as shrewd as most humans and more aware of the invisible world – although when that awareness tells them that All Is Not Well, not all of those lumbering humans will listen. But fortunately for the town of Luckenberg, when the local cats hear of trouble, there is one especially lumbering human who will listen to them. Though whether he will understand remains to be seen.
